Join a growing community of Ashlanders who are working together to create a healthier future. Get a sign to help spread the word about your journey to clean energy — and inspire your neighbors too! We offer two signs:
We’re Going Electric Sign
On your journey, use a sticker for each electric appliance in your home: dryer, fireplace, cooking range, air heating and cooling, and water heater.
100% Electric Sign
Once your home is fully electric, proudly display this 100% Electric Home sign.
About the program
If you want to reduce your monthly utility bills and are concerned about climate and health, it’s time to start planning an all-electric home update. Better indoor air quality, summertime comfort, and carbon-free living are finally within reach!
By electrifying your home, you support Ashland’s hydro-powered electricity and become part of the climate solution. There are financial incentives to help cover the upgrades, too.
Your home does not have to be electrified for you to join the program — we welcome everyone, whether it takes you six months or six years to fully electrify.

Air Heating and Cooling
Avoid 4-8 tons of carbon pollution per year by installing a super-efficient heat pump. It will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the wintertime. Depending on your needs, there are ducted, ductless, and portable systems available. Check Energy Star for more information on heat pumps.

Water Heater
Avoid 1-3 tons of carbon pollution per year with a heat pump water heater. Technology is advancing rapidly for this home appliance; today they are quieter, longer lasting, and more efficient.

Cooking Range
Eliminate pollution and clean your indoor air by switching to an electric resistance or induction range. Your children will thank you for protecting them from harmful pollutants.

Fireplace
Replacing a gas insert with an electric insert will give you on-demand heating and the look of a flame without the complications of burning fossil fuels in your home.

Clothes Dryer
If you own a gas dryer, consider switching to an electric one — or use a clothesline to dry your wet laundry in the sunshine.
How the “Going Electric” program works
1. Sign Up
Sign up to request your “in process” sign kit, which includes milestone stickers to mark your progress (dryer, fireplace, cooking range, air heating and cooling, and water heater). Proudly display your sign in front of your home — inspire your neighbors on the path to clean energy.
2. Make a Plan
Every home is different—make a plan to get started. Fill out our free home energy assessment form. We’re happy to guide you through the process.
3. Take Action
Swap out the systems in your home, adding stickers to your sign as you electrify. Check out our electrification-friendly contractors.
4. Celebrate!
When your home is powered exclusively with clean energy, get your 100% Electric sign to display outside your home.
Financial Resources
There are lots of financial resources to help you pay for upgrades. Check out this incentive calculator to get local, state, and federal rebates and tax credits. Income-qualified residents may be eligible for even more help.
Qualifying for Rebates
