Neighborhood Climate Clubs
Did you know there are neighborhood climate clubs in Ashland? Neighbors gather to talk about a variety of climate topics — like protecting homes from wildfire and supporting each other during emergencies. They bond over potlucks and happy hours — and form wonderful friendships along the way.

Neighborhood groups
Are a great way to…
- Build deeper connections between neighbors
- Learn the most effective ways to reduce climate pollution
- Learn about protecting your home from wildfire
- Help each other during emergencies
- Learn from each other and community experts
- Integrate climate considerations into everyday life
- Enjoy being and working together
If you want to go fast, go alone, If you want to go far, go together.

Our opportunity
We have a big challenge — to reduce pollution and keep our planet livable for our children. Today, people are isolated and tuned into different media sources. Half of Americans “don’t know where to start.” Neighborhood Climate Clubs meet this need by:
- Providing concise and practical information
- Showcasing our superpower — working together
- Addressing our goals of building resiliency and reducing emissions
- Building community
- Inspiring hope as we do our part collectively to address climate change
A welcoming environment
We follow these simple “rules:”
- Listen and learn from each other
- No judgment or pressure
- Everyone’s voice matters
- We are nonpartisan and engage respectfully
- Have fun!

Monthly Themes
We have developed educational resources that each group may use when meeting with their neighbors. Here’s a sample of the topics:
- Protecting Homes from Wildfire
- Transportation
- Electrification and Home Energy
- Food and Compost
- Conserving Water
- Preparing for Emergencies
- Participatory Democracy
- Shopping and Consumption
- Plastics and Recycling
- Misinformation
- Climate Anxiety
- Communication Strategies
