The Ashland Climate Collaborative is a nonprofit organization that serves as a community resource for education, information, organizing, and sharing on a wide range of locally-appropriate climate change topics. We provide information on practical and policy strategies for reducing climate-warming emissions and becoming more resilient to existing climate changes — such as heightened fire risk, drought, smoke, and extreme heat. We welcome local experts, community leaders, and community members to share their expertise, viewpoints, and experiences in these areas.
Our Communication Channels
In 2024, we launched a blog to provide timely articles authored by Collaborative staff, volunteers, local experts, community leaders, and community members. We’re redesigning our site, AshlandClimate.org, this spring and seeking new guest writers. Ideal articles are under 1200 words, written for a general (non-academic) audience, on topics that help community members (or local policymakers) take meaningful action, with links to sources for cited facts and statistics. We’ll include a short “teaser” in our monthly e-newsletter linking to the article. Our newsletter reaches 850+ subscribers each month, with an open-rate of over 60%. The website and the newsletter will also spotlight monthly “themes.”
