Bike Buddy Program
Got a Question about Bicycling?
Get yourself a Bike Buddy!
Bicycling in Ashland can be intimidating and scary if you’re not accustomed to it.
Fortunately, Streets for Everyone has launched its Bike Buddy program. SFE’s bike buddies are keen to help. We’ve got knowledgeable and experienced bicyclists that can answer any bicycle related question or offer tips on how to deal with a particular problem or issue.
The Bicycle Buddy program will match you with someone who is eager to help and can meet on your schedule at a location of your choice, or on the phone. Whatever works for you.
If you need a bicycle buddy, all you have to do is fill out the form below and a Streets For Everyone volunteer will reach out to you to match you with a Bike Buddy.
The goal of the Bike Buddy program is to help Ashland double the number of people walking and bicycling for short in-town trips by 2030, double again by 2040 and double once more by 2050.
That’s a lot of Ashlanders making the choice to walk or bicycle. But combining Bike Buddies with the city’s efforts to make bicycling safe, convenient and efficient for people of all ages and abilities, will help us reach those milestones.
Here are some specific ways that Bike Buddies can help:
1. Choosing a route that is safe and bike friendly.
2. Tips on choosing clothes that are comfortable and appropriate for the weather.
3. Resolving mechanical problems and tips on bike maintenance.
4. Performing a quick safety check.
5. Fitting a bike helmet.
And more. Bike Buddies are here to help with any of your bike-related questions. Getting more people on bicycles is key to a healthier, happier, low-carbon Ashland. We can do this!!!
